Pasting MIDI in a time linear mode?

I have some MIDI events that occur in a project where the tempo is 54 BPM. I want to paste that MIDI into a section of the project that occurs at 88 BPM. When I do this, the midi plays back at the new tempo. Is there a way to paste this midi so it plays back like it did at the old tempo (linear, not musical)?

IE, it has to convert the notes to be longer or shorter based on the new tempo. Is this even possible? The easy shortcut is to record it as audio and paste it as audio, but I’d like to learn to do this in MIDI if it’s possible.

Hi,

Switch the MIDI track itself from the Musical Mode to the Linear Mode first. Change the “orange note” button (symbol) to the “grey clock” button (symbol) in the track controls.
