I have a bunch of text items, I’d like to copy in most instruments.
As an example: One is now in bar 1, one in bar 7, one in bar 38, etc. all over the score. (30 items in total.)
I copy all of them, then select bar 1 of another instrument, then paste.
Weiredly, they don’t all paste to the same places as in the original instrument (where I copied them from), but the positions are changed.
Why is that?
How can I copy many text items easily to other staves, with no errors?

In a brief test here, it looks like you need to select the same beat that the sequence of text items starts on.
For example:
This series of text items starts on the third beat of bar 1. In order to copy them correctly to a different staff, I need to paste them to beat 3 of that staff. If I just select bar 1 and paste, Dorico seems to use the first beat as a target, and all of the text items are two beats off.
If the first bar has a whole rest, you can start Note Entry and move the caret to the third beat and then paste.
Additional tip, you can also use the caret to paste those text items to mutiple staves at once by pressing Shift+ ↓ (or ↑, depending on where you start) while the caret is active.
If all the errant lyrics are off by the same amount, one can filter for the lyrics and use ALT/OPT + RightArrow to move the lyrics by one’s grid setting until the syllables align with the source staff.
Thanks all for looking into this. I had indeed put some dummy text on the very first beat of the score. And then copying that along. Somehow it doesnt work. The remaining text positions get mixed up.
As a workaround I have now used system text, which works.
