I am fairly new to Dorico and today I have stumbled upon a problem. I was copying a chord and I tried to paste it in different bar and it didn’t worked. I suspect that copying is working beacuse after pressing ctrl+v the ui of the dorico refreshes. I am working on Windows 11. Of course I tried to restart my laptop and the problem still occurs (also in different projects). Ctrl+c and ctrl+v work in other programs. Any tips or advice on how to solve my case?
Welcome to the forum.
Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V do work in Dorico.
Can you be more specific about what you were trying to do?
It’s not my first project so I have already discovered that ctrl c and v work in Dorico so I was even more frustrated and confused.
I was continuing my work on arrangement were most of the chords are just repeated in groups of eighth notes. And to save some time I was copying the chord then I was selecting a few rests and after pressing ctrl + v the chord filled up the region I selected. That’s how I was working last time but today was different and I didn’t work anymore. I thought to myself that maybe copying the whole chord was the problem but it revealed that I can’t even paste the single note.
Now when I am trying to paste notes the UI of the Dorico flashes and the circle above my cursor turns for a while and disappears.
I suggest you do Help>Create Diagnostic Report and upload the diagnostics zip file here. Someone may be able to work out what’s going on.
I did what you suggested so I am leaving this file here. I hope someone will be able to detect what’s wrong.

From the logs, it looks like copy and paste events are happening normally.
Can you describe a bit more what you’re doing, and what happens? Using screenshots helps.
I decided to record a short video of what I am trying to do.
Here’s a link to the clip on my google drive:
At first I selected the chord and copied it using ctrl + c. Then I selected the rests I wanted to fill but after ctrl + v nothing pasted but the upper line of the interface reacts as I am trying to press ctrl + v multiple times. I also tried to copy a whole bar on the video but still nothing happens.
Normally, if you press Command C or V, then the Edit menu should ‘flash’. I don’t see that happening in your video.
Can you do it again, but this time use the Copy and Paste Commands from the Edit menu, rather than the keyboard shortcuts. You can also check in the Edit menu, to see if the shortcuts are assigned to those commands, or not.
So I tried your suggestion but it still doesn’t work. I am pretty sure that the menu also flashes on the first video. You can also see in the Edit menu that the keyboard shortcuts are assigned correctly.

Is this on Windows on both videos? (I thought the first one was Mac!)
Can you supply the Dorico document that you’re using in the video?
What if you just select the notes and press R ?? Or Select the notes and Alt-click on the rest?
Copying and pasting is absolutely possible, so something is very wrong on your computer if it’s not working.
It is windows on both videos. Pasting still doesn’t work but I didn’t know about the duplication under the R key. It works and I will definitely apply this shortcut to my workflow.

I am also attaching the project I was working on.
I think I will just reinstall the Dorico and it will probably solve the issue on my computer. I also thought that it might be the the consequence of an app that works in the background.
Same here, can’t paste into Acc 2.
Paste into voice is working though.
Jesper
I can copy from acc. 2 and paste into acc. 1 and copy paste is working normally in acc. 1. I also notice that M, N, alt+M and alt+N are working in acc. 1 but not in acc. 2.
Unfortunately I don’t know of any setting that could affect this.
Yes, it’s very strange.

I really appreciate your help guys!
