I’m learning Dorico, from 36 years with Finale. I have 2 drum parts, which is what I used to do in Finale, one for the player and one for audio. I’m trying to see how best to work with Dorico for a drum part. I entered the notes as I needed on the upper drum staff (bars 1-8) and then covered them with slashes, and added cues. I copy the drum part from those bars and paste them over the same music later in the chart (bars 18-25) and the slashes and the cues end up on the 2nd drum stave. After much checking and re-copying and pasting I figured out that in two of the bars, which uses the bass for the cues, bars 3-4, (this is weird because 3 other bars, 6-8, that use the bass for cues are uneffected) when I select bars, 3-4 of the drums, some of the notes in the bass part also become selected??? So, when I copy and paste them to the other bars, I have to select both the bass and drums for it to go to the right staff. Crazy?? Especially when I’m trying to copy just the drums. It’s frustrating because this shouldn’t be this complicated!!
