Ever since I heard a Flute Quintet performance awhile back, I’ve been interested in exploring writing for one. I did a “Festive Fun for Flutes” for last Christmas, a volume 2 this year and am now working on this. I’ve always liked “Pat-A-Pan”. The melody evokes the drum with “tu-re-lu-re-lu” and “pat-a-pan-a-pan”, so I thought I’d incorporate that into the arrangement. I used NP4.51 BBC Core for Flute 2, Glock. & Tambourine; SSO 2024 for Piccolo, Flute 1 & Alto Flute, Synchron Prime for Tubular Bells with GPO5 for Bodhran & Bass Flute.
