I have read that Nuendo 12 is advertised with enhancements for key-commands esp. for Transport cmds. Does someone know if by chance the request for a dedicated PAUSE command made it into V12? Often such ‘details’ are not promoted.

No, there is no “Pause” command in v12

Sorry to interrupt you, but I made for myself this simple macro of three steps that works just the way I need:
Preferences - Transport - Return to Start Position on Stop
Transport - StartStop
Preferences - Transport - Return to Start Position on Stop
I assigned it to Num Enter.

I don’t think this will work. Because every time you trigger START a new start position will be set. Your macro on spacebar will do this:
Hit spacebar from stop condition:
saves Start position
saves position in Marker 9
starts transport
Hit spacebar from ‘run’ condition:
saves position in Marker 9
stops transport
returns to start position
Hit Num 9
goes to marker position 9
Hit spacebar
saves Start position (!!!)
saves position in Marker 9
