Hi. I´m about to buy Dorico 5 Pro, and it seems I can only do this by giving my card info. Really? That feels like the 90-s, and a bit unsecure. Is there no more secure way?

Bank cards are pretty universal, and as you say, we’ve bern giving our details securely for 30 years.
Actually there is now also a 2 factor authentication for bank cards, or not? This makes it very secure.

If you feel insecure, don’t do it that way.
May be there is a Steinberg dealer for your country (Sweden?)?
Nowadays, when paying by credit card, quite often a second way of authorisation is been required by your issuing bank. 2-factor authentication. This makes sure, it can only be you, who is paying.
The Steinberg online shop also supports PayPal, so far as I know.

I bought it. I didn´t get the 2-factor authentication, so now I just hope
nothing bad will happen. It didn´t tell me in advance if I would get the extra security, it just went through with the perchase. Bad.
You have to agree that it´s not right to have to give your card info in these setteling times. I´m sure customers are lost. This should be fixed.

End-to-end encryption is a thing. Most web-shops should be doing that.
Online purchases are categorized as “Card Not Present” transactions, which come with security mitigations, and responsibilities for the retailer.
Certainly in the UK, if a bank has identified a payment as fraudulent, they refund you the money.
You can activate the 2 factor authentication with your Bank and your Card service . Ask your Bank and they will explain how to activate it for every future purchase.

And to add to this, some banks lets you activate the 2-way-auth. especially for purchases via the internet.
From your home banking or banking app you should be able to create a virtual card with a single use. I do that for basically every purchase that doesn’t support PayPal or Apple Pay
Hi. I understand that I can do this and I can do that, but as the customer I shouldn´t have to, right. This should be done by the seller (via experts). Not everyone has the capasity or interest to learn about these things, but they (we) have learned that there are big risks ‘out there’. Just saying.
