I am trying to use the ornaments popover to give the pedaling for a harp glissando. Up to this point I’ve been using the nifty ‘calculate harp pedals’ - and have indicated that I want them to appear in the full score - but when I use the popover (with the command shift-P) after I push ‘enter’ it simply disappears, and clearly the harp pedaling afterwards won’t take this glissando into account.
What exactly is your desired outcome? Can you post an image?
Two points:
I don’t think Dorico understands a glissando ornament (shift-O gliss) in relation to a particular harp tuning.
Shift-P invokes playing techniques. It does not understand gliss, which is an ornament. Any popover that is fed meaningless instructions will simply fail (some dislike this behaviour).
What I thought I would get was a pedal diagram with the desired tuning. As you can see in the pdf, I just added the desired turning as text. From Anthony’s video on harp pedaling, I thought that the popover would not only give me the diagram but would take it into account at the next change of tuning.
PS - As I understood Anthony’s instructions, after typing Shift-P I would type in the pedaling, (using # for sharp and b for flat) and a diagram would result.
Yes, that’s correct, and it works for me. Make sure that you don’t use spaces between the note names (e.g., D#Cb, not D# Cb).
Edit: And if the pedaling is set before the gliss, Dorico will play the gliss with that tuning.

That said, using the wrong syntax always causes (any) popover to fail.
