Is there still now way to control where the percussion instrument change happens in a score? I know this has not been possible previously but I wonder if there has been any improvement in this area? Or has anyone a workaround for this?
Like the example below it would be much nicer if I could have the instrument change later and preferably on a new system or even on the system where the instrument change occur.
Have you tried this setting in Layout Options?
Well that is slightly better but then I get this instead. Preferably (and most according to notation standards) would be to have the change at the beginning of the system.
(And for some reason I also get “Tam” as instrument name on this system despite having to Marimba-systems visible. That looks really weird.)
Just enter a system break before the first Tam note?
The only note played on that system is Tam, so that makes sense.
But that problem will be gone when you force the Tam to a new system, I think
Yes. Thanks. That could work in this particular case but I have some more percussion instrument changes (in the middle of the system) in this score where it wouldn’t work I’m afraid.
I could really use a workaround for this. I had problems with this in my two latest orchestral scores but couldn’t bother to find a solution then.

Haha. Wonderful! That’s what I call a workaround. Reminds me of the old Finale-days when half a score could contain of various workarounds…
