Percussion Audio Not Being Recognized by Sample Editor

Hi,
I just opened a “claps” audio track that was rendered from GA5.
The audio track has plenty of gain.
I can see a greyed-out wavefor in the Editor, so it’s acknowledging it somehow.

The Sample Editor/Vario Audio Button gives the Error:
“Cannot open Vari-Audio, No Note Sements Detected”

What’s the reason for this?
Thanks!

Hi,
maybe the sample doesn’t have enough tonal information to work with in the first place.

Seems to. Has a similar tone to a guitar chucka.
My actual goal was to extract the MIDI info from it.
Ended up using Melodyne.

So, Melodyne detects pitch information? Does it sound as expected when you transpose the pitch?
Have you tried Sampler Track? This might be the easiest way to get the results you have in mind. Sampler Track let’s you use these chunks in a MIDI kind of way.

Don’t really need to transpose it. Just need midi to use with a goofy thing called El Clapo for more claps variation. Just seems surprising that it wouldn’t recognize the audio from the clap track, given that I use it with actual drum sounds all the time.
Using Melodyne the experiment actually is going pretty great. This El Clapo thing is kinda cool.

Good for you! If Melodyne works well that’s that. El Clapo sounds interesting, will have a look into it
