Percussion confusion

I continue to struggle with percussion, even after looking at many videos on this topic.
After installing the VSL studio percussion and its playback templates, I created a single player/unpitched percussion/snare drum. And then choose the sineplayer with the snaredrum attached.
When inputting a note for a Roll, the single line player, plays back a different note ( so no roll)
I was under the impression that any note would be played back at its original note number and still show up on the single lined player?

You should use the synchron player to play VSL stuff, shouldn’t you? Make sure (play mode, left panel >Routing>Track that the appropriate percussion map is selected. Post a picture of that area of the screen if it still doesn’t work

Beside the observation by @MarcLarcher (Vienna=Synchron Player), if you installed the correct Playback template, then use it (you can combine different PT/Endpoint Configurations into one if you use different libraries etc…), and you don’t need to bother with the settings in Play mode

Thanks a lot @MarcLarcher
Yes, both expression map and Perc. Map are in the right slot. What I did was:
Create a single player, and choose unpitched percussion. Snare Drum.
Created an instance of the Syncron Player, loaded “Studio Snare Drum”.
Have it working if I play the keys of my Keyboard, in this case I use E4 to produce a roll.
When I record this note with the record button, the roll sounds, but when playing back; C3 gets activated instead of E4.
Am I supposed to duplicate the in SetUp created instrument and edit it?
Many thanks!!!

Thank you @Christian_R
I will look into that, I can see that there is a lot to learn for me, and am very grateful for the friendly help on this forum.

Best regards, robert

Ok, great. Now in Setup mode, players list, you open the snare player’s card (a little chevron to the side which reveal the rectangle with Snare Drum in it and a … menu next to it). In that … menu you should find Edit the Percussion Instrument techniques. Make sure you have somehow a “roll” technique activated, usually it’s the Natural technique that has an Add-on with three strokes repeats that trigger the Roll playback technique.

I think @MarcLarcher is on to what your problem might be. Based on seeing your setup, there is a good chance, you don’t have a roll technique assigned. Just a guess, but I have seen this numerous times.
