Percussion map edit, fix incorrect entry

I am trying to edit a percussion map to add and instrument at a MIDI note that had no entry. Somehow, I ended up with the following (1st image below), an entry at MIDI note 27 (and 28, 29, 39) that has no Name/Instrument/Techniques showing in the Edit Drum Kit Note box. The second entry shows what happens when I select the note 27 line then click on Instrument in the Edit Drum Kit Note box to try to get Conga (Quinto) to show up in the Edit Drum Kit Note box. I end up with two entries for MIDI note 27 and I can find no way to get rid of the bad(?) one. I should have created a duplicate of the Percussion Map and experimented there, but now I’ve messed up a percussion map that I am using in my project and can’t find a way to fix it. Now, if I duplicate it, the error also appears in the duplicate.

I have a version of my project that I saved a couple of days ago that still has the original, correct, percussion map, but I have done some work since then that I would rather not have to recreate. Is there a way to fix this percussion map in the most recent version of my project?

What I am trying to do here is to create entries in my percussion map for instruments that don’t exist in the VDL GM Percussion Garritan library I am using. I can then use Expression Maps to route the notes to a different channel (with a different library loaded) on the ARIA multi and transpose them to output the correct MIDI notes for instruments/techniques I want to play. I have already tested this for instruments that do exist in my VDL GM Percussion GIFF library, but do not include all of the techniques that I need. The library that does include the techniques is the Garritan Ethnic Percussion Library.

It seems that there ought to be a way of editing percussion maps to change the information at a given MIDI note without creating a duplicate.

All of this complication could be avoided if I could simply route the individual instruments in a percussion kit to a different channel + percussion map + expression map–but I haven’t found a way to do so. (There is another topic I started a couple of days ago covering that).

I didn’t read the thread to the end, but you are experiencing this …
