First time posting on the forum - thanks in advance for help. Maybe this has been answered somewhere else, but I can’t find it.
I set up a percussion map for djembe playing techniques, and it’s working great for single-note input from my MIDI keyboard. But when I use the Record function, all of the different keys map to the default playing technique, instead of the techniques they map to during single-note input. Is there a way around this? Did I mess up somehow in creating the map? Or is this a bug I encountered?
I having been working with others lately regarding percussion maps and playing techniques. And this is an interesting issue.
A few questions, are using a single line staff for the djembe? Or a 5-line staff?
What sample library are you using for the djembe sound?

Well, I just did a small test using VDL and the tambourine sample.
Just as you described, inputting uses note input works like expected. However, I am getting the same issue you are. When I record the music in, it only records as the “natural” playing technique. Not the “fist” or “palm” technique as I played.
Interesting discovery.

Thanks for confirming the issue - glad I’m not the only one.
To answer your previous questions, I was using a single-line staff, with alternate note heads for the “bass” and “slap” tones, and was using whatever the default sample library is, which I think is HALion Sonic.
I found the issue!!!
In Dorico Preferences under Note Input, there is a section about percussion input. Use the single line staff option, and change it to use percussion map. I got it to work on my tambourine file.
