Percussion names in score

I would like to make a question about percussion staff labels in the scores.
I want to know the best manner to indicate the player name and instrument name at the start of a score (for example:
Percussion 1 (Timpani)
Percussion 2 (Vibraphone)

and then, in the following pages, show only the short name of the instrument (e. g. Timp.), in order to make it easy for the conductor to know at every moment which instrument is played.

This is something that is easily possible in Dorico 5, newly released today. You can specify those staves to show the player name on the first system, and then show instrument names on subsequent systems.
