Maybe make sure there isn’t a key switch within the range of a sound? The Project and Playback Template files would be useful.
Ty. no notes entered. So no idea. Support said to change the endpoint for the instrument to default. It worked. Although i really don’t understand what I did
The problem will be that you changed the sound used for the instrument in the VST plug-in you’re using for playback manually within the plug-in’s window, which meant that the expression map Dorico had chosen for that instrument no longer makes sense, and it’s playing a key switch that produces a normal sounding note for this patch.
When you change the sound manually in the VST plug-in, as a general rule you also need to change the value of the Ex map menu in the Routing section of the Track Inspector: if in doubt, choose Default to start with.
Ty for the explanation. How would I know which value to change to? Beyond just choosing default that is
That can be a bit tricky, admittedly! The main thing is to check whether you are hearing dynamic changes as you expect. If not, try changing from Default to e.g. CC1 Dynamics or CC11 Dynamics to see whether that helps.
Ty! Will do
