Phase-Coherent AudioWarp causes disk cache overload?

Hi folks,

I have an issue I haven’t encountered before.
I’m mixing an album recorded in 96khz. All projects work perfectly smooth, until the moment I apply phase-coherent audio warp quantization on the drums / piano folders.

From that moment on, every move of the playhead to a point in which the warped tracks are present, causes a massive disk cache peak, and unless I wait a whole 2 seconds before hitting play, Cubase struggles playing back the tracks - either not playing all the tracks or adding them one by one, or having major and abrupt stuttering.

I’m working on a very capable Macbook Pro M1 Max with 64gb RAM.
I have tried working from both the internal SSD and two different external ones and couldn’t identify any difference.

This does not happen in 44.1khz projects.
Anyone familiar with this? Is it just the 96khz files that are too hard to handle? Anyone can suggest a solution?

Thanks!

It’s really holding me back and slows down work intolerably .
