Piano entry - overlapping notes

Hi all,

Sorry, another piano live-entry post.

When I play in live, using sustain pedal (Dorico 4), I seem, like many pianists, to slightly overlap notes when playing arpeggio techniques, especially. Dorico therefore assumes that I want notes longer than I actually do, and notates accordingly, with lots of tied notes in one voice! (which you would suspect it would do, as that’s what I’ve “asked” it to do)

Is there any way, whether a filter, or a setting somewhere, to make Dorico intelligently know not to overlap those notes, or do I just need to play FAR more cleanly to get the results I want?

Thanks,

Daniel

Select all the notes and press something like 5 or 4 to reduce the note values. Then put them all in upstem voice 1. Then use the command to Extend Duration to Next Note.
