I need some help with writing the piano part. In the 2nd ,4th and 6 th bar, f.e. I want a dotted quarternote e (2) and d (4) ande (6) in the LH. How do I do that? Thanks in advance!
Select the low E and press Shift-V to create a new downstem voice. Next, the low D, and from now on, only press V to switch voice since you already created one.

Thank you, Jesper!!! Wonderful! It works…. but now there are rests popping up? How do I get rid of them?
EDITED:
Write mode: Edit menu > Remove Rests

Thank you, Derek. Selecting the rests in WRITE I dońt see a pop up saying Remove rest nor Rests. Clicking delete doesńt work either.
[Corrected] It’s the top menu Edit>Remove Rests (this will remove any rests in the current selection)
It’s a good idea to make a shortcut for this command, you will likely use it a lot.
THank you, Janus for your quick answer. Would you be so kind to send me this shortcut for the command?
Derrik and Janus, you’re talking about this Write menu, right? I don’t see any option Remove Rests.
Thanks in advance!
Sorry, my mistake; it’s in the Edit menu.
(And I followed blindly - sorry)
If you are new to Dorico and will be inputting more piano, Dorico’s First steps tutorial inputs piano, introducing you to voices (etc.) if you do not know about it already.
(Perhaps you input the piano in your score from a midi keyboard? The tutorial is inputting note by note.)
You can find various YouTube videos on voices and how they work or here in the manual
I’m flattered by your faith in me, but I wish I had gotten it right and not led others astray. ![]()
Thank you, Derrick! Now I found it and it worked!!!
