Piano shows no rests in the lower staff

Here I have a problem I am not able to solve:
The piano player is changing between Cuíca and Piano (both labeled as »Pno.«). After changing from Cuíca to Piano, the lower staff doesn’t show any rests:

In galley few the piano doesn’t have rests in the lower staff right from the beginning of the flow:

Put the caret on the bottom piano stave then type Shift-B rest Enter.

You’re suffering from a situation that normally only occurs when Remove Rests has been used, and sometimes in MusicXML imports.
