Adding the horns shows where it is going. Still like a lot, now even better, although the horns are clearly “sketchy”. Keep going, please!

I can accept this as a “live” recording, given the vicissitudes of such. As a studio recording, it’s coming up a bit short in a few areas for me. I’m hearing like 4 completely different spaces going on here. The piano seems very mono – was that intentional? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not wanting to hear a really wide spread out sound, but I would like to hear it sound like it’s in a open space with the rest of the arrangement, as if it were double-mic’d.
Actually, if I were producing this, I’d lose the horns, an go with just the 3 pieces, and tighten up the signal processing, arriving at a very warm, intimate, and somewhat dry (although not totally dry) sound
