Pickup Measure Causing Issues Later in Score

This might be a little silly, but I added a pickup measure at the beginning of my score, but there’s a time signature change later on in the piece where it goes to 2/4 and then straight back to 4/4, but the duration in the final 4/4 measure before the switch only has a duration of 3 beats (see attached image). I assume it’s because of the pickup measure, but I need the entire measure to be 4/4, and changing the time signature to 4/4 hasn’t worked to fix the duration. I tried to click around the menus, but I couldn’t find anything, and I was wondering how I could fix that so that that measure is 4/4. Thank you!

Hi @legendKeepers, and welcome to the Forum.

To correct the incomplete bar, select the barline at bar 37, press Shift+B (Bar and Barline popover) and write 1q (one quarter) and press Enter:

You can spot easily those incomplete bars from the Proofreading panel:

Those incomplete bars occur when you change a Time Signature before an existing one, which act as placeholder: Dorico will not add extra beats, unless you use insert mode.
So in such cases you can ask Dorico to add the necessary beats (as explained before).

Ah, thank you so much! I was wondering how that worked.
