Pickup measure issue following XML import

I imported an XML file (a .mxl conversion of a Finale file) and am having an issue with the bar numbers not displaying as desired. I’ve found that when creating pickup bars in Dorico, the pickup bar is indexed as bar 0 and the first bar number that displays corresponds to bar 1. In the Dorico file created from the XML file, the 2 beat pickup bar is indexed as bar 1 and the first bar that displays is bar 2 as shown here:

The pickup bar is indeed just 2 beats and there don’t seem to be any hidden beats. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Double-click the 4/4 and re-enter the time signature as 4/4,2. The bar numbers will be correct.

Thanks, I had already tried that and it didn’t solve the problem. When the time signature is double-clicked the popover already displays “4/4,2”. Deleting the “4/4,2” and re-entering it doesn’t work either.

Then simply apply a bar number change.
(it’s really not very difficult)
(EDIT: it might be the double barline that is preventing the automatic re-numbering. You could try deleting that and then replace it. Just a thought)

Thanks, the bar number change worked as suggested and as you remarked, it was easy to accomplish.

I think I was wondering more as to why the pickup measure numbering didn’t behave as expected initially—I tried deleting the double barline and replacing it, but that didn’t resolve the numbering issue. But I’ll consider the main issue of how to renumber the bars solved at this point.

I only suggested it because barline changes are also time signatures and perhaps bar numbers would be affected (TBH it’s a bit opaque to me how this all works!)
