I have tried pitch changing an audio file it is an MP3 2 mins long.
I wish to take it down 1 semi tone, Set to the basic pich change setting Cubase 8 crashes as it can not handle an MP3 of this length?
To change the pitch I have to cut it into 5 or 6 small pieces and do one at a time?
I have tried this also on a MacBook Pro with 16 gig ram and an i7 processor and it does the same.
I have also tried it on five i5 PC’s and it does the same…
I am guessing that there is something else going on here. It can’t be all those systems at fault. I can drag any mp3 of any length into Cubase and then pitch or timestretch without any problems.
Could it be that you are trying to manipulate a file that has been set to read only?
Are you converting and importing the file? If not, try Audio>Bounce Selection first before shifting the pitch.
