I did a pitch (from E bass track) to midi, cleaned it up, then made “K” copies of it in Score. I checked it in list and key edit. Key shows the proper notes but both score and list show multiple copies of the same note.
In both instances, I manually removed the duplicated for the first measure, and copy paste with “K” command, to the next few measures, and the issue appeared again.
Sorry, but the two screen shots show the doubles appearing in list edit (and score) but not in key edit. Delete doubles is in midi functions. I thought the doubles would be layered in key edit, but no to that also.
Delete doubles works at a data level - if it works in list, then it works in key edit. In score, it deleted some of the doubles, even though the list showed no more doubles.
I think the screen shots explain it well.. And, as i said, the doubles do not show up in key edit. I am beginning to wonder if pitch to midi does not like low bass notes longer than a half note.
I have used Cubase since Atari so I’m pretty familiar with list edit..
No, the screen shots don’t really explain it at all.
However the notes are easy enough to see in Key Edit. There are a bunch of zero-length and near-zero-length note events in there, including events that are beyond the borders of each of the midi events.
Examining one of the midi parts on its own reveals this:
