Pitchbend issues?

Hello,

I’m trying to manually edit the pitchbend of a note.

But the pitchbend editor behaves strangely : when trying to overwrite the current pitch curve with a new one, instead of replacing the previous curve, the 2 curves “melt” together. Resulting in a messy, unusable, curve - See it in action, here : https://drive.google.com/file/d/106fK541zqtPmQeQE-nauHPOvj7mKHRab/view?usp=drivesdk

Additionally, the pitchbend drawing looks like square steps, instead of proper curves as found in Automation - See screencapture here : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vLI1sHQOOEYzfpFb4wYOihZoICHGvWlA/view?usp=drivesdk

Is it possible to edit pitchbend with similar curves found in automation ?

Thank you in advance for your insights,

Stephane

Hi Stephane,

Thanks for your message.

In your MIDI editor example, the grid is set to 1/8.
Please make sure to set it to OFF, and try again.

Hope that helps!

Best,
Lars

Hello Lars,

Thank you for answer.

Anyway, it does not really answer my question : when I draw a new pitch bend curve over an existing one, both are “melting” together. Instead of the previous one being simply replaced by the new one, as this is the case in “automation”.

Additionally, if I want to fine tune a pitch curve without grid constraints, as you suggests, I have to carefully edit each of dozens (hundreds) of key points, which is unmanageable.

Why not changing the way pitchbend is edited, using similar curves than the ones found in Automation ? There, a fistful of key points are enough to create a smooth curve, as in my example with volume automation…

Thank you in advance for your lights,

Stephane
