Pitches triggering from Groove Agent in Dorico

I am using GASE for the first time, and trying to create a drum kit part with my notated instruments by dragging chosen patterns from the sample pads into the playback timeline.
Though the patterns audition correctly, when I play back, certain pitches are being triggered. Why?

I’d also like to know if I can switch between drum sample instruments in the one song/track? Thanks.

To answer your second question first, you cannot change the plug-in or sound used to play back a drum kit midway through a project. You would need to add a second drum kit, either to the same or a different player, and route that drum kit to the desired plug-in. If you have the kit held by the same player, you can have automatic instrument changes from one kit to the other.

I’m not sure what you mean by your first question: what do you mean by “certain pitches are being triggered”?

Thank you for your prompt reply Daniel.
What I mean is that in the drum part dragged from, say “Palm Islands” beat agent, the high hat part auditions as you would expect, but as soon as it is dragged into the Drum Set part, G#1 is sounded instead. I’ve attached a score excerpt.

Whilst I have you, I would like to be able to see the drum set part notation whilst in the Play mode so I can edit it freely, as per Anthony Hughes’ video. Can you please advise how this was achieved?

When you drag a pattern from Groove Agent into Dorico, the instruments in the MIDI file will be mapped onto the existing instruments in the kit, but Dorico won’t create any new instruments. So try modifying the percussion kit (in Setup mode, via the Edit Percussion Kit dialog) to have all the instruments that are present in the pattern you’re dragging in, and then try dragging it in again.

I’m not sure exactly what you mean in your second question. Are you looking for the percussion editor in the Key Editor in the lower zone?

Hello Daniel,
I’ve attached a screenshot of the Edit Percussion Kit dialog and cannot see anything wrong with the high-hat pedal that is triggering those pitches?

Yes - I am looking for the key editor as pictured at 1:15 in Hughes’ video linked previously (so that I can edit the resulting notation).
