I’ve been writing a waltz with strings in it for a composition and I have a part where some of the players should play pizzicato, but I can’t get playback even though I’ve added the pizz. playback marking into the score. Can anyone help with this?
What VST sound set are you using?
If you’re using the default HSSE (Elements) playback template, I’m afraid that automatic switching of arco and pizz. is not supported. But you could add something like NotePerformer relatively inexpensively to increase the quality and range of sounds available to you.
I’ve tried NotePerformer but have never been able to get it to work with Dorico
It should be straightforward enough, Barb. Open the project you want to play back via NotePerformer, go to the Play > Playback Template dialog, choose NotePerformer, and click Apply and Close. That should be all there is to it!
