When I have a tempo, a line and system text at the same time, Dorico seems to want to position the tempo as the highest thing, followed by the line and then the text closest to the stave. Is possible to position these in my own custom order automatically without having to change each instance manually in Engrave mode? Or at the very least can I force lines to stick to the stave and have both tempo and normal text go above the lines (I don’t mind so much about the tempo but I’d really like text to be positioned above lines automatically)? Hi @IsaacAdni, just assign to this text a custom paragraph style with a certain distance from staff (here I used 6 spaces, which is double then the factory minimum distance of Tempo from staff which is 3 spaces-see engraving options for this) and with avoid collision deactivated.
You can of course create the text already with that custom paragraph style (you can also assign a shortcut to do so: Prefernces>Key Commands> search for “create text”> assign a shortcut to the desired PS):
