Placing a Fermata

In this picture, I want to place a fermata on the dotted half note in the top staff, and on the bottom staff I only want one fermata on the bass note. How can I fix this?

Thank you for your response. I attempted the suggested steps, but they did not work. The fermatas seem to be vertically grouped, and when I tried to break the group using Shift + Ctrl + G, nothing changed.

@ProfS as fermatas can’t be unlinked, placing them off the page may be an option:

For these cases it is good to have a playing technique created with the fermata symbol.

@ProfS , considering what @k_b posted, if you need that fermata playback work, in this case, you can add fermatas normally, “hide” then with a custom scale and color change , and add the playing technique with fermata symbol:
