Play loads in first project but not in copy

Hello everyone,

In my original project I combine Play for “metal objects” and Noteperformer (for all other instruments). When I open it first it takes a moment to load, then while the document is already open, I see a grey box in the middle of the screen for a few seconds saying “metal objects” and then everything works fine.

In a copy of that same file I open it and the grey boxes don’t appear and I don’t hear the instruments that work with Play…

How can I fix this?

It sounds like you’ve not correctly set up the appropriate instance of EW Play in the project in which it doesn’t play back. Does it appear as an entry in the VST Instruments panel in Play mode?

Yes it does. That is why it’s so confusing to me…
