I was just putting in some gradual tempo changes using the time track in Play Mode and couldn’t figure out why my changes appeared to be one measure off in Write Mode. It turns out that if the piece has an anacrusis bar at the beginning (as this piece does), the pickup measure is numbered bar zero in Write Mode (as it should be) but it’s numbered bar 1 in the Play Mode window (right above the time track). This causes the bar numbering in Write Mode and Play Mode to differ from one another by one bar.

I don’t think this is quite the same thing. This is a very simple piece that I entered by hand, and which has just a single time signature; the only bar number irregularity is the way Play Mode is numbering the bars, evidently due to the presence of a pickup bar.
