[Play tab Bug?] e Icon no longer toggles show/hide of VSTi plugins

Apologies if this has already been mentioned. Just in case…

I’m on Windows 11…Dorico Pro
Version 5.1.60.2187 (Oct 8 2024)
Dorico 5 AudioEngine Version 5.6.42.5

Play Tab…
In the past the e Icon in the Track Inspector and VST and MIDI tabs would ‘toggle’ respective VSTi plugins to show/hide themselves. It would turn blue when showing, and go back to normal when hidden.

Now if I click it the respective plugin shows, but it doesn’t turn blue, and it no longer will ‘toggle’ to hide the plugin a second click. The only way to hide plugins is to close/hide them out by their own means.

It’s not a big deal on a single, moderate sized screen setup, but with multiple screens, or a really large one, it can be quite a chore to manage all the windows (huge and or multiple ‘mouse swipes’). Making these toggle and color change when active again would be nice.

Thanks for reporting this, I entered it into our bug database.

This isn’t how Dorico has worked going back at least as far as Dorico 4. The buttons in the Track Inspector and in the VST and MIDI panel only work “one way”, and they don’t reflect the state of whether the plug-in is already showing a window.

We may change the way this works in future, but it’s not in our immediate plans.

I confirm that the toggling behavior dates back to Dorico 3.5.
