Hi, I’m new to Dorico and it’s so much better than Sibelius already!
I used to use Cubase a lot so it’s nice to be in familiar teritory.
I am a bit stuck with one thing though, I have the levels up to max and I can still only just hear the playback. I had my laptop turned up really high so I could hear what I was doing and then a Discord notification nearly deafened me!
Anything I’m missing with this? When I export to audio I have the same problem, it records it quiet too. The master fader is up to max already.
Any ideas? Thanks
Welcome to the forum, @eeveecatcher.
Are you assigning playback sounds manually in Play mode? If so, you need to make sure you have chosen appropriate expression maps for the instruments you’re using. If you are using instruments that use MIDI CC 1 for dynamics, you need to tell Dorico that by choosing an appropriate expression map in the Routing section of the Track Inspector panel in Play mode after you choose a different sound in the VST instrument.
If, however, you are just using one of Dorico’s default playback templates and letting Dorico handle all of the sound choices itself, this should be taken care of for you automatically, in which case I suggest you follow @Derrek’s advice to pull the Default output level fader on the Play page of Preferences all the way to the right, then choose Play > Apply Default Output Level in your project to apply those levels to the Mixer.
