Playback and Record for external processing in WL 12

I am currently having ito go back to WL 9.5 so I can playback and simultaneous record when sending audio out to a outboard processor. I am using a 9632 RME audio card and it works great but I cannot do the same thing with WL 12 due to WL 12 using ASIO. WL 9.5 allows me to use an MME driver. I want to use my Weiss EQ1 MK2 for an outboard EQ. Is there a way to do this in WL12 WITHOUT buying a new audio card? Thanks in advance. If this is not possible now could it be implemented in WL12? I am sure others here would welcome this ability. Thanks in advance.

I thought there was an ASIO driver for that card?

I run an AIO with ASIO and that’s the same family?

Or is that not the problem.

There is an ASIO driver and we use it with the card everyday BUT it will NOT allow simultaneous playback and recording on the same computer - UNLESS I am missing something. All I want to do is playback a file on WL, send the AES out to our Weiss EQ1 MKII and record it on the same computer. We can do this with PITCH/CATCH but it means using another computer for the playback. Thanks for the reply.

You can put an audio file on a montage track, play this track and record the signal in another track.

Doesn’t RME TotalMix allow you to route through the hardware, and set up the Weiss as an External FX?

[EDIT] Just had a look at the 9632, if you’re not already using the S/PDIF ports, you could adapt them to AES and route through the Weiss.

Hi!

I think go to RME forum and ask, someone in there have a clue I think…

I mean RME and WaveLab have been around 25 years with Totalmix e.t.c

or use Cubase/Nuendo maybe easier to setup?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will try them today…and report back!
