I do a lot of editing in actor voice recordings and there is a behaviour in WL11 Pro I cannot replicate in WL12 Pro.
In WL11 Pro I can let playback running (in loop) while selecting a range and delete it and WL continues to play back from the deleted cut point.
In WL12 Pro with exactly the same settings in Transport, the cursor always jumps back to the beginning of the file, which makes cutting very cumbersome with this method.
The behaviour in WL11 Pro is perfect for what I do, because it allows to stay always at the point of a cut and playback isn’t interrupted by jumping everytime to the file start.
I really tried everything to get this behaviour into WL12 Pro, but now I’m out of ideas. Therefore I still use WL11 Pro just for cutting voice takes.
Any ideas, or is this a bug or a design decision?
Have you tried this? I am not sure if WL plays back from where exactly you cut while audio loop is played but I think the cursor keeps moving and playing after somewhere around where you cut.
Yes, and I even imported the Transport settings from 11 to 12. Tried it also manually to replicate all settings … always the same result.
I edit my previous post; can you read and try again or may be someone else has an answer for you.
Thank you for trying to help - very appreciated.
I really tried the same settings, different setting in WL12 Pro - everything I can think of. I’m a WL user since version 1 or 2 …
When I set my “play from anchor” and “play until anchor” to edit cursor, the audio is playing from where I cut.
Yes, that’s true for stopped audio. Just let it loop playback, delete something and you will find WL12 Pro jumps to start of file.
You are right, this is not normal. I will check it asap.
Is this what you were trying to say?
Yes. This is how WL11 Pro behaves, but not WL12 Pro here.
Now, that PG is on it - I’m curious what the outcome is.
I did this on 12
Hm - Mac or Win? I’m talking about Mac - if there is a difference.
I am on Windows.
Ah, ok - I can double check on my other Windows work place … didn’t thought there could be a difference.
Why do you ask? I thought you’re on WL12?
I am unable to find Loop Selection other than through preset on 12.
I imported the Transport settings file from WL11 Mac into WL11 and WL12 on my Windows workstation and it shows exacrly the same behaviour like on the Mac, as decribed in my first posting.
You mean “keycommand”? Which one?
I cannot find this menu right now here.
