playback issues Cubase 7

Howdy,

Recently upgraded to 7 from Studio 4.

I don’t have this problem with any of my existing projects, but when I create a new project and record new tracks, the playback is all over the place. Audio tracks dip in and out as if someone’s messing with a fader and sometimes they just cut out altogether then suddenly come back. Midi tracks stutter. Both maintain their tempo, but it’s making recording more than a little tricky.

I’m a pretty inexperienced user, so hopefully someone can tell me which setting to tweak and I’ll be on my merry way.

Thanks gang.

Stuttering DAW? Sounds like you need to fiddle with your buffer settings in the Device Setup dialog box.

Sounds like you are using the onboard soundcard? Try getting a real one.

Cheers.

While you’re in there, try deactivating ASIO Guard.
