Playback Issues (slow, ticking sound)

Hi forum,
I was editing a mix I am working on. Had no issues. Open the file today (any file), it is slower, pitched (guessing by 10%) and their is this clicking sound. Not using any plug ins. Running 11.1 on a Mac Pro M1 2021)

What is the problem? Driving me crazy.

Check sample rate and is audio device set to master ?

Thanks! Yes that was it. Sample rate was too low and the masteresection button was off (red) not engaged (green). (For those with the same problem).
