Playback of Baroque Ornaments Future update

It would be nice if, in future updates, that playback of Baroque Ornaments be implemented. Now one has to enter invisible staves and playback through it.

Yes, it’s been requested a lot, and it’s certainly on the developers’ list. But it’s far from easy: the same notation means different things in different ages, and so there would probably have to be something like an “Ornament Editor”, where you would specify the audible characteristics of the ornament somehow.

Finale did a decent job, though, with its different playback styles, I think.

Dangerous to bring up the F-word when comparing, but, yes, I think it did a decent job. Though, it might actually be a limitation (at least for me) with the Dorico implementation of NotePerformer. It’s been a while since I’ve used F*****, so I can’t be sure.

I did love the way it performed turns, though…

Despite me having uttered quite a few real F-words, or equally unflattering translations thereof in my native language, when using Finale (briefly, long ago…), mentioning it is not censored on this forum. De mortuis nil nisi bene

Not censored, per se, but occasionally attacked, however softly. I try to keep my F comparisons to a minimum, even after nearly 40 years of use. I converted only 8 months ago, and even I cringe when I read “but Finale…”

Yes, there are some things it did better–even the coders of Dorico admit this–and some it did worse, and most it just did differently. I prefer to just work with what I have in front of me and hope it eventually gets some of the features I want and used prior to switching.
