Playback Stops

Why does the playback of my project suddenly end in the middle and then restart 10 bars later? Yesterday the playback of my project worked fine. I did not change anything overnight!

Ahh! But did the gremlins? Have you tried closing Dorico and reopening, and/or rebooting? Sometimes things just need to be reinitialized.

I rebooted my Mac but still no sound for 9 measures. When I look at the Velocity window, there are no vertical bars for those 9 measures. (See screenshot). Is there a way to contact Steinberg about this? Or, how can I restore the missing sounds without re-writing the music for those 9 bars?

Maybe select those bars, and check that the velocity isn’t zero in the properties panel. Otherwise, share the file.

The velocity for bars 24-35 is 64. I have attached the file.

You have suppressed playback on those bars. Hopefully fixed here. You can tell by the notes are gray, not black.

Thank you for your time and solution. How could I have done that? I didn’t even know that could happen.

Don’t know how, you might have accidentally hit the property, or have a shortcut for that.

You already did! The Steinberg Dorico team reads this forum and will respond if you don’t get an answer from another user — sometimes they beat us to it!
Also, please check the “solution” box on @jesele ‘s post that identified the solution to your problem. It helps other users find answers to similar issues.
