Playback suddenly transposes?

This is such a bizarre issue, and I’ve searched the forums, but haven’t seen anything posted recently about it.

Ever since the 6.2 update, note input and playback will randomly play back in different keys. Which part (or parts) decide to transpose themselves is seemingly random. If it’s a score with strings, choir, and piano, the piano may all of a sudden start playing a half or whole tone higher. It will happen during note input too: I’ll be inputting in C, but the playback notes will be as much as a minor third higher.

I’m not sure what I can post here that could demonstrate what’s happening, and I can’t reproduce it consistently. It’s like a switch is flipped, and all of a sudden, one part is in a different key.

Perhaps a sample rate discrepancy?

I’m not sure why it would change indiscriminantly, though. There’s no discernible pattern.

Hi @Janus, quite unlikely because a mismatch between 44.1 and 48 kHz only accounts for a half tone, not more.

@nick.klemetson , is every instrument transposing, or only one? Or are several instruments even transposing differently?
The next time it happens to you, please do from Dorico’s menu Help > Create Diagnostic Report and post the corresponding zip file here. Maybe the log files reveal something.
Thanks

Glitchy pitch-bend wheel if you have a keyboard connected?

would be my guess here as well.

This was it. The wheel is quite glitchy… if I touch it, it will “reset” until the next time. Thanks!
