Playback template skips Strings. Why?

Hi,

I am using Dorico 6.1 on W11.

I am making a playback template based on the EastWest Hollywood orchestra. In this template I have woodwinds, brass, percussion, and strings. And use Noteperformer as fallback. However, when I apply this template to a project (eg the orchestral template of dorico) then the string part is skipped and violins/viola/etc are assigned to Noteperformer. Why? How to fix this?

I made a short video showing the issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BD5ngRoX8jQ

Thanks, Antoine

Your project uses Single Players, but does not set Endpoints for Section Players.

It looks like the Expression Map refers to a string section but both the instruments loaded and the set up use solo strings which is in itself odd for an orchestra, though of course perfectly possible if it’s a chamber setup. @benwiggy is right, I think, but I’d be interested to see what happens if NP is not included as a fallback. NP is VERY fussy about the difference between solo and orchestral strings and I’ve had problems with NPPE if I accidentally mark a section player as solo whereas with other libraries, it will simply play what’s loaded.

Ok, I will follow up on the suggestions. B.t.w. the solo string is in there because i started to make all of this from an existing project.

Removing NP does not help. @benwiggy is right. I need different endpoints for single and section players (I don’t think this is in the documentation). I updated my template. Now almost behavior as expected….still a strange thing going on. Need to make a new youtube tomorrow to show.

Can someone tell me with the instrument assignment of Violin I and II change after applying my playback template: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7f2Jr9eYHY
