I’m noticing something that perhaps is obvious but I am not sure so here I am.
I have an oratorio score (full orchestra, soli, choir) and there is a player group for the soli and one for the choir. I also have staff visibility set up to hide after first system.
First thing: even when player group labels are not shown, the distance of the systemic barline and of the longest staff label from the left margin of the page is as big as if they were shown. Is it expected? Is there an option I may have overlooked for it? For now I have worked around it by not showing player group labels at all and then just activating its property on the first page.
Second thing: the player group labels had default short names ‘1’ and ‘2’ and, from the second page, they were showing as such. I changed them to something more sensible and, with staff visibility set to hide empty staves, only one solo is usually singing at a time. That made the player staff label and its bracket disappear. While this is exactly what I want I have the feeling that there is an option somewhere for this, something like “if space less than X do not show player group label”. Could you please help me find it?
