Hi,
I’m new to cubase 13 pro & not having any success trying to play, let alone edit, old midi based cpr files that used USM. Can anyone point out how (or where in the manual) I can redirect the midi tracks to Halion rather than USM and get sound out of the file. I do get some sound with a new file, but nothing from my old ones.
Thank you
Hi,
I don’t know, what USM is, but…
Add an Instrument Track > HALion Sonic SE.
Select the MIDI Track > Routing tab and set the output to HALion Sonic SE.
Hi. Thank you very much. Just got the first sounds out of an old file in 3 months or so. I can’t remember having to load USM (universal sound module) as a track all those years ago. Thanks again.
The USM was a VSTi that came with (I think) Cubase VST 5 or thereabouts. While it’s still available on the Steinberg FTP site, it’s not compatible with Cubase 13.
