Please dear developers

Something that really annoys me.
If I change something somewhere afterwards, correct a few or change a fingering, dorico jumps somewhere afterwards. To the beginning or end of the piece or anywhere you want, that is.
This is really annoying.

Thanks

Hi.

I think it would be useful to describe exactly what you do to get that behavior. Maybe post a video with some explanations ?

ok, next time I work on it.

This has been happening for a long time. If you switch from one score view to another, select a note or rest, and then switch to another window, the highlighted note isn’t in the center of the screen, but at the bottom right. This is very annoying, and you’re forced to reposition the view every time to continue working. It’s strange that you haven’t noticed this after all these years.

I have a shortcut to center the screen on the selection.

Dorico jumps all over the place in several situations, the one e.g. that springs to mind is adding a fermata. Another annoying thing is: when simply removing (all or one) note(s) in a bar, the focus jumps to a note in the previous bar, which might be on the previous screen page and is often confusing. Why not put the focus on a rest in the bar you just emptied? Since we’re talking about focus, another annoyance: Play Mode, Endpoint Setup. Please give “Default” the selected status (blue) so that I can start to type in the name of the Expression Map immediately. (And the ability to copy Expression Map names from one slot to the other would be very helpful as well!) These small irritations add up and causes an internal angry “Why???” all the time. Thanks!

I feel your pain… Nonetheless, the “normal” workflow when working on the music is galley view or fill view, in which case Dorico does not jump that much…

In any case, I’m not defending Dorico when it’s jumping, just trying to give some tricks to avoid it  And I will welcome all improvements in that field.

Well, it isn’t normal for me! I never use Galley view, only Page. And the jumping drives me crazy also. Sometimes it jumps more than a page away.

What I meant by “normal” is how it’s designed to be used. Of course, you can choose not to follow that workflow, but then some things might happen
