Please help!!! Firewire coil / cpu noise..

I’m about to give up. I don’t know what to do and am out of ideas

The PCI or PCIE card itself will whine…BAD. Loud enough to fill the room.

Devices are

TC Electronic Konnekt 24D
Steineberg MR 816X

ALL FW cards have TI chipsets. pci or pci-e

When I play a song, bam…NOISE. I have to turn the device off and on a couple times.

C-States ALL disabled
EIST disabled

Do I have to disable multithreading and all cores as well???

I’m ready to throw all this *%&& in the trash.

Power supply is NEW 750watt EVGA 750B2
MOBO: Supermicro X8DTI with 2 X5650 cpu’s

Legacy USB is also disabled.

Are Supermicro boards just junk?

What else do I disable?

What about hot glue on the coil on the firewire card?

I covered the firewire cards coil in epoxy to help kill the whine…

But I still get some whine.

It seems to be coming from:

Both cpu’s
Nvidia GPU

I am going to re-enable and then re-disable every thing on the motherboard I can. A replacement mob is out of the question right now. I’ll epoxy the coils on that if I have to.

NOBODY has ever gotten whine from firewire before???
