F3 toggles mixer .
F7 toggles Audio Connections.
I set up Studio Setup as F5 - but always have to close it manually.
Can it be a toggle?
Doesn’t “Esc” work on your setup? Do you perhaps have it reserved for other functions?
Hmmm - I don’t know - but it only half helps lol.
I just wish all of this stuff would get standardized…
I created a shortcut using the tilde (~) key, unfortunately I can only open studio setup with it. To exit you must get either okay or cancel.
Actually no - ESC doesn’t work…
Seems like such a simple thing, sigh…
Works fine here, Win11.
I did some testing here and Studio Setup is not the only window you can’t close with Esc. And it is inconsistent. In general, most utility windows like the MIDI Remote Mapping Assistant and Audio Performance Monitor do but others don’t. Also, most windows that have a menu bar, like the Mixer and MediaBay, can only be closed using their shortcuts. But then some utility windows cannot be closed with Esc as well. VST Instruments is one of them. They can only be closed with their shortcut.
Yes.
I don’t mind that esc doesn’t work consistently, I would just like toggles so I can use a shortcut.
F5 to open should be F5 to close, as an example…
Funnily enough, it’s that particular window that doesn’t accept the toggle because I remapped the MixConsole to a different shortcut and it toggles. It still is a matter of window behavior not being consistent across windows even though your post is just about Studio Setup.
Also on Win 11, esc works to close Studio Setup, as well as VST instruments. I checked Kontakt, Groove Agent SE and The Grand. I wonder what makes the difference on other machines?

I believe this might be related with multi monitor setups. I couldn’t close mine until I changed to a single monitor setup, then back to mutiple. Still can’t toggle the shortcut though.
Toggle is the way to go. I’d like to see more of this.
Well - ESC works today to close F5 window - I have no idea why lol.
Maybe pilot error on my part!
However, this is a moot point, as I am still unable to shortcut this as a toggle…
As someone posted earlier, there are other examples of this which should be toggle IMHO.
