I don’t know about anyone else but whenever I click the Update button in Plug in information in either Cubase 6 (32 or 64 bit) the program freezes. It’s so frustrating!
Do you have a large collection of plugins?
How long did you wait? Sometimes Cubase can show as “Not responding” for quite some time while doing certain things but pop back out of it when done.
Do you have any plugins which behave weird or crash cubase when loaded. For every new version of Cubase some of my plugins stop working for one reason or another and it doesn’t have to do anything with 32/64 bit compatibility. There’s not much to do other than to remove them I’m afraid.

Never use the Update button, close and re-start Cubase.
