Plugin GUI Rendering Issue

Hi there.

In Cubase 15 I have a huge problem with loading some plugins properly. (Soothe2, Waves, Slate Virtual Tape Machine). Cubase loads my mixing template without problems. Once I want to open Soothe2 or any Waves Plugin, the plugin window is white / blank. And Cubase freezes. This is a GUI Rendering Problem for sure. I know. But I don’t have a solution until now. I updated the drivers for my Graphic Card. I tried older versions of the driver. Nothing worked. It drives me nuts. Do you have any ideas how to fix that?

My Computer is new. Bought in March. i7-14700K, Intel UHD Graphics (newest one). Should not be the problem for this setup to run and show cubase properly. Everything else works perfectly like Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Premiere Pro etc.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Generate a DMP file and share it via Dropbox or a similar service, please.

As you are on Windows, once Cubase freezes, open the Task Manager, right-click on Cubase and generate the DMP file.

Or…

Use the Microsoft ProcDump utility to generate a DMP file, please.

  1. Please download ProcDump64 from Microsoft (~650kB) and extract the archive to a local folder on your hard disk.

  2. Run Command Prompt (cmd) as administrator (right click and select “run as administrator”)

  3. Navigate (in the Command Prompt) to the folder with the extracted procdump file.
    For example:
    cd C:\ Users \ \ Downloads \ Procdump
Note: the dmp file will be written into that folder.

  4. Launch Cubase/Nuendo. You can work as usual. At any time, change to the command prompt and start procdump, to monitor Cubase/Nuendo for unexpected behaviour (see next step).

  5. Launch procdump64 via Command Prompt:
    Cubase:
    procdump64 -e -h -t Cubase

Nuendo:
procdump64 -e -h -t Nuendo

The -h option will write a dmp file in case of an application hang. This might kick in too early sometimes, in case some action takes a little longer. Feel free to skip the “-h” option, if you are only up for fetching crashes.
The option -e will catch exceptions and the option -t terminations of the application.

  1. Prodump is now monitoring the Cubase/Nuendo process and will write a crash log, in case Cubase/Nuendo crashes or hangs. Perform the action that causes Cubase/Nuendo to crash and send us the generated crash dmp.

ZIP and share the DMP file via Dropbox or a similar service, please.

Hi, I found an older driver for Intel UHD Graphics which one works. It’s Version 5592 - gfx_win_101.5592.exe. This fixed my problems. Maybe there is a patch someday to fix the problems, with the current Intel UHD Driver. But for now I go with that one. Everything runs smoothly.

I had this issue a long, long time ago, maybe Cubase 6. I was buying and using Waves more and more, and one time I opened the GUI of GTR3 and it was blank, as in your case. Every instance of Waves that I opened was also blank. Non-Waves - no issue. If I removed enough instances of Waves, the GUIs would display once more.
I, also, was using Intel graphics. I bought a cheap GPU and the issue was solved.
Ergo, it’s not a Cubase issue, it’s down to the plugin developers.
