Hi!
I found an issue with the Minimal Audio Fuse Compressor causing the Cubase UI to lock up when the VST3 is open. I discovered it when using the Modulator function - and mapping it to the Mix slider at the bottom.
Here is a video explaining the issue in relation to the modulator:
However - since I recorded the video, I discovered the UI freezing has nothing to do with the modulator, and everything to do with that plugin being open. As long as it is open and has more than a single band (of the multiband compression) active, the Cubase UI starts to get laggy or comes to a stop.
Side note - The video shows a processor overload, but it is unrelated to this issue. I am using:
Cubase 14.0.5
Windows 10 Pro
64 GB RAM / Ryzen 5 3.9GHz
48000 Sample Rate
512 Samples
While writing this, I upped my samples to 1024, and it helps some, but for the UI to get laggy with nothing playing, I suspect the issue is at a fundamental level.
Hi… Me again. After making this post, I did a search for plugin freeze, instead of plugin freeze with modulator (which is what I did when I made my original post). This came up:
After reading that, I went back to Minimal Fuse Compressor… there is an option for OpenGL in the settings. Enabled that - and now everything works as expected.
