Pool Improvements

Feature requests:

Dark mode for the project pool plz.

And “auto size columns to fit”.
And font size/scaling.
And shaded belly band rows (alternating row shades). Like so:

And an index column with counts (same as the pic; left column). The index could restart based on the file type. For example, after there are 12 .mp3 files, the .wav’s start in the list. So the indexs starts back at 1, to have a quick count of both types. There could be two indexes. One for total and one for file type.

Selecting multiple items would show the number of items selected in the info bar.

plz plz :hugs:

Ah yes, Pool/Library,

I think the last remaining vintage-UI element of Cubendo.

Agreed and the Preferences window, as well

A bigger font would be nice as well.

Ya I think why not have the media pool the same gui as the media bay.

Why not have the loop browser, sound browser, media bay and project pool all tabs on the same window? Just tab around to get to the other thing. You could keep the current hotkeys to get to each thing.

Each tab disabled until you click on it, to avoid mounting data you don’t need to look at. You could have window halves. Media bay on left, project pool on right. Drag and drop items from the media bay into the project pool. There would be a folder in your browser, now you drag out all the new things in your project.

True. That was also my main feedback to the recent Cubase survey. Make everything scalable and customizable. Like, now you can scale insert effects but not VSTs like Padshop or Retrologue. Have fun staring at tiny GUI and font.

You can’t? Because I can. There were updates for Padshop, Retrologue, Groove Agent SE and Halion Sonic.

I see, that is good to know. I haven’t updated yet. Maybe I should.

Have there ever been situations where after updating a Steinberg VST it created problems like forgetting certain presets that you ranked / liked?

That is my primary concern.

I haven’t encountered such an issue yet. I have to say: they introduced the same media bay in Retrologue and Padshop that they had in Halion already… and it’s open by default. Ie. the plugin window is wider and this annoys the heck out of me.

Could you please provide a screenshot to show what you mean?

Different versions of media bay confuse me in Cubase. It’s like you have thé media bay and then you have different versions of it, depending on how you access it. Would be nice if someone could explain this a bit.
